Performances need video, not just stills.
Months of rehearsal for four minutes on stage. We shoot sangeet multi-camera with the audio recorded separately, so the performance survives as something watchable rather than a shaky phone video.
How do you shoot in low light at a reception?
Off-camera lighting, fast lenses and bodies that hold up at high ISO. We do not rely on the venue's stage wash, which is usually the wrong colour and pointed the wrong way.
Do you cover the receiving line?
Yes, and it is one of the things families check afterwards. A shooter stays on it so no guest group gets missed.
Do you shoot sangeet performances on video?
Yes, multi-camera with separate audio. A rehearsed performance deserves better than one static camera.
Will flash disturb the guests?
We keep it minimal and bounced. Most guests do not notice it.
How many photographers are on the floor at reception?
At least three, usually more, because the stage, the receiving line and the dance floor all run at once.
